We thought it fitting that the first haul for our new shop truck should be something that we also built...134 years ago! When we heard that the Gratz Area Fire Company #1 was having a parade to celebrate their 100th Anniversary, we thought it would be a great event to get the new Shop Truck some publicity. Then the suggestion was made by an employee, and a member of Reliance Hose Company No. 1 of Elizabethville, that we take their original piece of fire apparatus, which also happens to be the first piece of fire apparatus ever built by Swab. So, as fate would have it, their 1890 Swab Carriage Company hose cart fits on the bed of our new shop truck as if it was purpose-built for it! A huge "Thank You" to the members of Reliance Hose Company for loaning us your treasured artifact, and for your assistance in loading it! It made for quite the parade piece today.

As a side note, Reliance Hose Company members were following us in their Engine today, and dutifully left early in the parade to respond to a medical assist call. We're happy we were able to help represent the Fire Company, and Elizabethville, for the entirety of the parade today. Congratulations to Gratz Area Fire Company #1 for a successful anniversary celebration! We had a wonderful day!

Congratulations to the Liberty Borough Volunteer Fire Department on the purchase of their new 2023 AIR 183. Manufactured by SWAB WAGON company this unit is mounted on a Ford F 600 4 x 4 chassis.  This unit features an eight bottle 6000 psi dual fill station air system with booster pump. Emergency lighting is by Whelen manufacturing with a EQ2B federal 200 Watt siren with dual speakers mounted in the bumper.  Other equipment carried by this unit are portable pumps ,four SCBA air packs with spare cylinders,assorted handtools ,portable lighting ,road barriers and a refrigerator for cold drinks.
