‼️‼️Public Service Announcement‼️‼️
Please Share, share share! Help get the word out that our seniors need these meals! How do you just stop feeding an elderly person! Contact your governor, elected officials, state representatives, your local community! Kentucky needs money for these seniors ere marked every year! No more hoops every six months. Frankfort has the numbers they know what and how much we need and serve. Call the Department for Aging let them know the need and anyone else that may help!
‼️This is a major affect for Jackson County Seniors too‼️We had a 79% cut in our Home Delivered Meals program leaving us with no choice but to cut back on senior meals! It is so hard to take these meals away from an elderly person on a fixed income. Especially with groceries being so expensive today! Please advocate, call, and speak up for all these seniors loosing meals! Time is also important as all centers are almost out of funding already or gonna be within the next few months!
❤️ NO MORE CUTS FOR SENIOR MEAL PROGRAMS! ❤️
Because they mean more than just a meal.
Imagine an older adult sitting alone at home, waiting for the knock on the door.
When that meal arrives, it isn’t just a hot plate of food.
It’s a friendly face.
It’s a conversation.
It’s someone asking, “How are you today?”
It’s a reminder that someone cares.
For some seniors, that meal may be one of the only nutritious meals they receive that day—and the person delivering it may be the only person they see.
At our senior centers, a meal is also about community, laughter, friendship, and belonging. It gives seniors a reason to get out, connect with others, stay active, and feel valued.
So when funding is cut, we’re not simply cutting meals.
We’re cutting connections.
We’re cutting companionship.
We’re cutting opportunities.
We’re cutting a lifeline.
Our seniors have spent their lives working, raising families, serving their communities, and giving to others.
Now it’s our turn to stand up for them.
📣 TAKE ACTION!
Contact your elected officials. Tell them to protect funding for senior meal programs.
Share this post. Help others understand that these programs are about so much more than food.
Speak up in your community. Let decision-makers know that our seniors will not be forgotten.
🍽️ NO MORE CUTS TO SENIOR MEAL PROGRAMS!
❤️ Protect the meals. Protect the connections. Protect the dignity of our seniors.
Because they deserve more than a meal—they deserve to know they matter.
Our seniors gave to us. Now let’s make sure we don’t stop giving to them.

A year after senior citizen centers across Eastern Kentucky faced severe state funding cuts that were temporarily restored with emergency dollars, that budget battle has returned, and local centers are bracing for the impact.
