**Traffic Advisory**

The Jackson County Road Department will be conducting cross drain replacements on Maulden Owsley Road in Tyner this week, Tuesday August 11-Thursday August 13 between 7:30am-4:30pm. Residents should expect road closures throughout the week with the road reopening each evening.

**Temporary Road Closure Advisory**
Thursday July 30, 2026
Blackwater Road approximately half a mile from Highway 1071 is temporary closed due to a damage cross drain. Repairs by the Jackson County Road Department will begin next date. The closure is nearest the intersection of Ray Clark Hill. Please utilize an alternate route until repairs can be made. Detours can be made on C Vickers Road or Highway 3630 East.

Information of new Flood Debris Satellite Location

A Satellite staging area for flood debris will be opening at Jackson County Transfer Station. The site will be separate from the Transfer Station and will be located near Potter Road but on Pleasant Valley Rd on Transfer Station property at the rear gates. This site is active today July 23rd, 2026 and will be operating from 08:00 to 3:30 pm from today to Saturday July 25th, 2026.

Also, the contractor in charge of debris collection will be begin burning operation for vegetation on Hwy. 30 today July 23rd. There will be smoke visible in and around the area of Hwy. 30 near the junction of Hwy. 3443, this is expected to last for at least 2 days.

Height: 4’9”
Eyes: Blue/green
Hair: sandy gray
Shirt: Maroon/black
Pants: black knee pants
Shoes: Flip Flops
She was also carrying a large bag.

Velma was last seen near 1035 McCammon Ridge Rd. Walking toward 421 toward the McKee side approximately 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours ago.

The primary severe weather hazard will be damaging straight-line wind gusts from one or more lines of thunderstorms. Isolated tornadoes and hail to around quarter-sized are also possible, especially if scattered supercellular storms develop ahead of the main line(s) of storms.

Update on Debris Pickup:
KYEM Roadside Flood Debris Removal began today Tuesday July 21st, and will continue through this week.
There should be an additional satellite site opening tomorrow hopefully by noon near the Jackson County Transfer Station on Pleasant Valley Drive. Please wait for a post stating that this site is open before bringing debris. You can also call 606-287-3838 to see if that site is open.

🚧 Flood Debris Collection Update 🚧 7-15-26

Roadside Collection Crews are standing down through the weekend and resuming operations on Monday, July 20th. Operations will be based on the amount of debris collected. If not much debris is collected, operations could close by the end of next week July 24.

Residents affected by the June flooding are encouraged to begin placing eligible flood-related debris at the right-of-way (ROW) or curbside in preparation for upcoming debris collection.
To help ensure debris can be collected safely and efficiently, please:
Place eligible flood-related debris within the public right-of-way or at the curbside, taking care not to block roadways, sidewalks, drainage ditches, fire hydrants, utility poles, or mailboxes.
If possible, do not place debris beneath overhead power or utility lines, as this may limit access for collection equipment.
Keep debris away from trees, fences, and other obstacles that could interfere with collection.
Separate debris by type, as shown in the attached guide. Proper segregation is extremely important and will help speed up the collection process.

ROADSIDE FLOOD DEBRIS PICKUP BEGINS TODAY

Residents affected by the June flooding are encouraged to begin placing eligible flood-related debris at the right-of-way (ROW) or curbside in preparation for upcoming debris collection.

NEW DUMPSTER LOCATION

A new dumpster was dropped off for local residents near 360 Clover Bottom Creek Rd. Maggard Logging, Sawmill and Firewood LLC
When you pull in to the sawmill the dumpster is there near the road.

Monitors are aware of the full dumpsters in McKee and Birch Lick and are working to have them changed out.
Updated information on Roll off dumpsters
Please don't overfill dumpsters- 90% capacity is the goal
Please don't use dumpsters after 8:00pm
We may move one of the 2 dumpsters in Mckee but 1 will be left.

2. We expect to have a unit on Clover Bottom Creek Rd on Monday

3. 1348 Hwy. 421 (Comp Care)

4. 100 Main St. near Judicial Center/Mr. BIlls this one may be moved next week unless its being used.

5. 40 Water St. behind Jackson County Public Library McKee KY this one may be moved to another location next week unless it is being used.

6. 3995 Hwy. 421 N Waneta Church of God- this one is full and will be changed out next week.
