South Central Fire Department is a Class 6 Insurance Rating Volunteer Fire Department located in Stone County, Mississippi. There are three fire stations that make up our district: McHenry Fire Station, Sunflower Fire Station and Perkinston Fire Station. We respond to structure fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents and grass/woods fires in our district and provide mutual aid to the surrou

Just wrapped up a brush fire, been a few this weekend. Please read the following regarding tomorrow’s weather and fire issues. Thank you.

🔥 Do not burn anything Sunday and please avoid activities that may spark fires. Strong north winds gusting up to 40 mph and very low humidity behind tonight’s cold front will make for dangerous fire weather conditions that could allow for fires to quickly get out of control and spread rapidly.
