Early snow? That's not a problem for McHenry Township, Illinois road district. This is one of the many reasons why we love our township!

Last truck this morning heading out. The roads and bridges are slick so please use caution when commuting. We are expecting 1-2” of snow until it tapers to rain this afternoon. We will be out making sure the roads are safe to travel.

McHenry Township has a vacancy for a township trustee. Applications are due by May 31st.

All applicants must:
• reside in McHenry Township (for at least one year)
• be a registered voter who voted Republican in the last primary election
• be at least 18 years old

Holiday Lights Recycling

Flood Brothers' Holiday Lights Recycling Program will begin on Monday, November 27, 2023, and will end on Friday, January 26, 2024.

There will be two (2) locations open for drop-offs, Monday through Friday:

Public Works Facility
1415 Industrial Drive
7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Municipal Center
333 S. Green Street
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Acceptable lights are mini-lights (Italian lights), C7 lights, C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights, extension cords, etc. All colors and lengths will be accepted. Garland, live greens, wreaths or other non-recyclables are not accepted in the program.

The law that was used to try and dissolve the township, has been struck down by the courts for violating the Illinois constitution.

Just like we said it did 😁

Section 24 of the Illinois Township Code entitled Dissolution of Townships in McHenry County is ruled Unconstitutional
