City of McGehee Police Department To Protect and Serve The McGehee Police Department has 14 sworn officers, 9 jailers, 2 administrative personnel, and K-9 "Hoot."

The police department offers a wide range of services including Patrol, K-9, School Resource Officers, Narcotics Investigations, Special Response Team (SRT), Criminal Investigations, Jail Operations, and the Desha County 911 Call Center. In addition to traditional police services, the police department very proudly partners with several community centers and schools such as the Boy's and Girl's Club of McGehee, local churches, the local food pantry and several other local charities to provide mentorship programs, food drives, drug free programs, school safety initiatives, the Shop with a Cop program, as well as many other services. The police is very honored to serve the fine citizens of the City of McGehee, and all those that visit or pass through on a daily basis.

📚🚔 Welcome Back, McGehee School District! 🚔📚

A new school year is just around the corner, and the McGehee Police Department is excited to introduce the School Resource Officers who will be serving our students and staff this year!

👮‍♂️ Corporal Mikie Araguz is joining the SRO Division and will be serving McGehee High School and Conner Middle School. We are excited to welcome him to the team and know he’ll be a great resource for our older students, faculty, and families.

👮‍♀️ Corporal Dallas Barnes is returning for her fourth year as a School Resource Officer and will once again be serving McGehee Elementary School. She is looking forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new students, and helping make this school year a safe, positive, and memorable one.

Our SROs are more than just law enforcement officers—they’re mentors, role models, and trusted members of each campus community. Whether they’re greeting students in the morning, teaching safety lessons, attending school events, or simply being someone students can talk to, they’re committed to building positive relationships every day.

As we count down to the first day of school, Corporal Araguz and Corporal Barnes are looking forward to partnering with students, parents, teachers, and staff to make this the best year yet.

Here’s to a safe, successful, and fun school year! We can’t wait to see everyone back on campus!
