There are some upcoming roadwork projects that will impact Town of Dunn residents, including:

CHIP SEALING ON COUNTY HIGHWAY B AND SCHNEIDER DRIVE

Starting the week of June 15 - weather permitting - Dane County crews will be chip sealing the entirety of County Highway B. The project is expected to last a couple days. In addition, town crews will be chip sealing Schneider Drive starting the week of June 15. The roads will not be closed, but we recommend considering alternate routes for the duration of these projects.

LARSEN ROAD CLOSURE

Starting Monday, June 22, Larsen Road will be closed at the Meadowview Road intersection for construction work. The work is scheduled to last through Tuesday, August 11. Through traffic will not be permitted during this time, and the intersection will be inaccessible to motorists. Local access will be maintained, but drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and plan for additional travel time.

Just in: new turtle crossing signs! Four signs will be installed along Rutland-Dunn Townline Road sometime in the next week to help keep our shell-backed friends safe.

June 8-12 is Wild Turtle Week, and female turtles are especially active this time of year as they head to their nesting sites. Unfortunately, that means turtles are more at risk from passing vehicles than usual.

Dane County and the Madison Area Municipal Stormwater Partnership are selling 50-gallon rain barrels for $82 (a roughly $50-per-barrel drop from the typical retail price), with a limit of four per household. This sale is open to ALL Dane County residents. Capturing rainwater from your rooftop can help lower your water bill, protect our lakes, streams and rivers, and conserve water.

Residents and property owners in the Waubesa Beach Neighborhood are invited to attend an information session TONIGHT, May 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Dunn Town Hall regarding an impending large-scale refurbishing of the 50-year-old sewer mains in Sanitary District #1.

This project is expected to extend the life of the mains by another 50 years. The work is expected to cause partial road closures at times and residents will notice heavy equipment in the neighborhood. A financing plan includes borrowing for most of the cost of the project. Join us tonight to hear from the district engineer and get your project questions answered.

Last night, we brought together many of the wonderful and talented people who volunteer to serve on our committees and commissions, as poll workers, and on a variety of projects and initiatives that benefit our town. We could not do everything we do without their commitment and passion for serving this community. We greatly appreciate their efforts and we hope you will join us in thanking them, as well!
