Great to see our department taking care of the house. Most of the group was headed to a branding at 5 am but still took the time to help clean the station for Don Sims’s funeral this weekend. Thank you to all that has helped keep our Carbon County station nice.

3 fires in 3 days for our department. Landowner called in a lightning strike fire on deer mountain. Luckily we had the right conditions for minimal spread. We had mutual aid from Elk mountain, BLM, and Forest service.

2nd Fire in Two days. Thankfully we have cows working hard on our side. This group has been working on the eastern flank for an about two weeks making a great fire line. Also thankful for all holding it down while a truck arrived.

First Forest Fire for Rock Creek division. Elk mountain, Hanna, and BLM were involved in suppression efforts. It’s great to have BLM willing to help out on private land in the middle of National forest. This was a great fire to catch before a busy season. This fire was on Wagonhound just 1/4 mile north of sawmill park. Last picture is of typical volunteer fire department parking lot. You never know how volunteers will respond. No tractors this time.

While still sitting on the fire for the night thought we might post some pictures of the wildland fire we had today. Thankfully between Elk Mountain Fire, Wyoming State forestry air attack, Hanna fire we were able to get it stopped. Containment won't be until tomorrow. Tim Cooper Shanon Sims Justin Simpson
