LaShonda C. Harris was sworn in by Governor Brian Kemp on February 26, 2026 as the new Solicitor General of Henry County. She is the first African-American to serve in this role for Henry County. Harris was appointed by Governor Kemp to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of former Solicitor General Pamela M. Bettis to the Henry County State Court bench.
Ms. Harris is a proud graduate of Mercer University, where she obtained her undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees. She has been practicing law for over 21 years, over 18 years of which has been in criminal prosecution. Ms. Harris has served in the Henry County Solicitor General’s Office for over 10 years as a Senior Assistant Solicitor General. Ms. Harris considers it a great honor and privilege to continue her service to this community in this new role.
