It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of one of our firefighters from an off-duty incident earlier this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family, friends and fellow firefighters during this difficult time.

🚨 At 12:43 p.m. on Monday, Escambia County Fire Rescue units E23, E4, E519, T15, E15, PS1 and 1501 responded to a mobile home structure fire at the 6500 block of W. Highway 4.

🔥 Upon arrival, flames and smoke were visible from the single-wide mobile home. ECFR located the fire in the kitchen and brought the situation under control by 1:04 p.m. Escambia County EMS transported two patients to an area hospital. The home can be reoccupied with extensive repairs and numerous personal items were saved due to the rapid response.

🔎 ECFR conducted the investigation and determined the fire to be an accidental cooking-related fire.

🤝 Assistance was provided by Nokomis E24 and Atmore T31.
