📢 - PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
➡️ It has been brought to our attention that political campaign signs are being damaged, vandalized and/or removed from public and private property throughout the county. Besides being immature and childish….this is also ILLEGAL and anyone who is caught partaking in this type of activity will be charged and prosecuted as set forth in SC 7-25-210. We understand that elections matter and that people feel strongly for their respective candidates, but we also have a responsibility to ensure the democratic process of campaigning/voting is allowed to be carried out within the confines of the law. What’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong……this type of behavior is wrong (and again, against the law). We humbly ask that you “act your age” and be mature enough to respect the process (and the law) whether or not you agree with certain candidates or political affiliations. For the vast majority of citizens who do act appropriately, we apologize for even having to make this post. For the few who are engaging in this activity…..please do better!!!
