In 2019, McCordsville and Fortville FDs merged to become VTFD. This page is kept active for historical purposes only. McCordsville Volunteer Fire Department is a 100% Volunteer department, comprised of nearly 30 members. Fire Department covers the town of McCordsville and the residents of Vernon Township. McCordsville Fire is a certified BLS non transport department having contracts with Seals Amb

ulance, and neighboring Buck Creek Township medics. McCordsville Fire has five frontline fire apparatus responding to all fire and rescue calls within the township. Also having numerous mutual aid agreements with Hancock county, McCordsville fire has mutual aid with City of Lawrence and Fishers Fire Department.
