Despite the massive amount of rain today, we’re happy to report that our event location has held up and Party in the Park is still happening tonight! The forecast says that the sun will make an appearance just in time for the event!

The grass is wet, so please dress appropriately for the weather and be sure to bring your lawn chairs for tonight’s movie. 🪑🍿

🏃‍♀️ TRAFFIC ALERT: GEIST HALF MARATHON THIS SATURDAY 🏃‍♂️

The Geist Half Marathon will take place the morning of Saturday, September 12, and residents should be aware of temporary road closures and rolling traffic restrictions that may impact travel in and around McCordsville.

Road closure times are estimates, and roadway access is not guaranteed at the exact times listed below. Roads will be reopened as quickly as possible once it is safe to do so.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURES & TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Olio Road
🕓 4 a.m. – Noon | Full Closure
Olio Road will be closed between 116th Street and 104th Street.
• 116th Street will remain open east/west.
• Traffic will be permitted to turn north onto Olio Road from 116th Street.

Fall Creek Road / 96th Street
🕖 Approximately 7:10 – 10:50 a.m. | Rolling Closures
Rolling closures will be in effect from the Springstone Road intersection to the Mollenkopf Road intersection.

Carroll Road / Fall Creek Road / 96th Street & Yacht Club Bridge Intersection
🕢 Approximately 7:30 – 10:50 a.m. | Full Closure
The intersection will be closed to east/west traffic. Westbound traffic will not be permitted until the final Half Marathon participant has passed through the intersection.

Limited eastbound traffic may be permitted when no participants are present on the roadway, approximately 8:45–10:25 a.m.

🏘️ NEIGHBORHOOD ACCESS
Residents in neighborhoods along the race course should follow the direction of course marshals and police and wait for permission before crossing the course.

🚫 Please do not move or adjust cones or barricades. These are in place to protect both runners and motorists.

Highland Springs:
• Race participants will cross 96th Street approximately 7:50–8:45 a.m.
• During this time, motorists may exit North Highland Springs from the Fox Hollow neighborhood at Wading Crane Avenue and 96th Street, with permission from police and/or course marshals.
• Motorists may travel eastbound only from 96th Street toward Olio Road (600 W).
• Residents south of 96th Street should exit via Crossfield Trail onto 600 W/Olio Road.
• Please remember that northbound Olio Road traffic will stop at 104th Street until noon when Olio Road is reopened.

We encourage residents along the course to cheer on the runners from your driveway or yard! Your support helps make this annual community tradition so special.

The safety of participants, residents and motorists is the top priority. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we work to keep the course safe.

🎉 Party in the Park is THIS SATURDAY! 🎉
IMPORTANT INFO: All kids will need a signed waiver from a parent or guardian to receive a wristband for the attractions. (Don’t worry—all attractions are FREE!) Attractions include: zip line, human hungry hungry hippos inflatable, bounce house, inflatable obstacle course, bungee trampolines, toxic meltdown inflatable.

📍 After filling it out, you can:
✅ Pick up wristbands at McCordsville Town Hall (Thursday & Friday, 8am–4pm) 6280 Vail Road.
