Appalachian Hills Wildlife Area is located in southeastern Ohio, approximately 6 miles east of the Village of McConnelsville, on St. It is part of the 60,000 acre area formerly known as ReCreation Land, which was owned by American Electric Power. The 60,000 acres are in the process of being acquired by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and is now Jessie Owens State Park and Wildlife Area and Appalachian Hills Wildlife Area. The area consists of 5 campgrounds, free of charge, 2 parksites (Miner's Memorial Park and Parksite Q), and one equine area. Approximately 25 miles of the Buckeye Trail runs through the property. Over 700 small lakes and ponds are located throughout the property.

Join us at Hook Lake (Campground A, 9160 SR 83, McConnelsville, OH) for a FREE family-friendly fishing day that encourages fun, healthy choices for our youth.

🕖 Registration: 7:30 – 10:00 a.m.
🍔 Free lunch & T-shirt for participants
🏆 Trophies for the largest fish in each age category

5 & under
6 to 9
10 to 13
14 to 18
🔹 Adults may assist children only
🔹 All children must be accompanied by an adult

Congratulations to Daniel James and Corey Riley our 1st place winners with a total weight of 78.61lbs. Dan Hammer and Scott Casto took 2nd place with 66.43lbs. “Big Cat” went to Corey Riley at 37.01lbs.
What a great turn out for the first tournament of the year!
