Southwest Mississippi Children's Advocacy Center

Southwest Mississippi Children's Advocacy Center The SWMS CAC is a non-profit agency established in 1999. The Center provides forensic interviews in partnership with law enforcement and DHS.

The Center currently serves 12 counties in Mississippi, providing children with a non-threatening environment in which they can feel safe to talk about what has happened to them, and where their healing can begin. We also provide medical referrals as well as follow-up counseling for children and non-offending family members.

Saturday, April 28 is our 3rd Annual Charity Softball Tournament at the Brookhaven Sports Complex. Games begin at 9am and end at approximately 8pm. Adults $5.00-- Children under 12 $2.00.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Center has several activities planned for the month. During April we traditionally provide child abuse awareness/prevention to schools and we have a "balloon release" in honor and memory of abused children everywhere. Students also participate in "Pennies for Progress" -- bringing their pennies to school. The class collecting the most pennies and the runner up will get pizza parties at the end of the month. We have also scheduled the 3rd annual softball tournament benefitting the Center. Check back for more information on these events as we get closer to April.

The Center will be closed from December 19, 2011 until January 2, 2012. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The Center will be closed on November 24-25, 2011 so that staff will be able to enjoy Thanksgiving with family and friends. We wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!
