To celebrate America's 250th anniversary, the largest operating steam locomotive in the world is making a historic Coast-to-Coast Tour and will travel through Mccomb. It will not stop.

Big Boy No. 4014 started its Eastern Leg Tour on Memorial Day, May 25th, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The locomotive is making its way across the country to arrive in Philadelphia for its 4th of July celebration. Big Boy completed its Western Tour earlier this year, traveling through California, Nevada, and Utah. Many stops along the route are listed as "No Public Access."

Big Boy will be making a short stop in Continental, Ohio. The scheduled stop is on Saturday, June 6, from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm, and the train will then proceed for a 15-minute stop in Fostoria.

You may see a different police cruiser out and about for a little bit. Before anyone asks, we did not get a new one, our cruiser needed some maintenance and we got a loaner until it comes back. Banshee Signs was kind enough to put a rush order on some magnetic signs so it will be properly labeled with McComb Police Department. So, don’t worry it is actually Officer Buess and Chief Blunk.

I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather we are finally starting to get.

I have been receiving numerous complaints regarding mini-bikes being operated on our streets. Riders have been observed running stop signs, driving through alleyways without caution, and failing to pay attention to traffic. There have already been several close calls involving vehicles.

Additionally, the McComb Church of Christ had previously allowed mini-bikes to be operated on church property. I have since been informed that this is no longer permitted. Unfortunately, this opportunity was taken advantage of, as riders were operating bikes through the parking lot during Sunday services. They were weaving in and out around parked vehicles. There was a near-miss when someone was almost struck.
At this time, mini-bikes are no longer allowed on church property.

Please also be advised that mini-bikes are not permitted to be operated in our PARKS, on SIDEWALKS, or on VILLAGE ROADWAYS. They MUST stay on their OWN PROPERTY at all times.

PLEASE talk with your children about street safety. Even when riding a bicycle, you have to follow street signs (stop signs) and traffic lights. I do not want to see any child being hit by a car.
If this problem continues, we will have no choice but to issue a citation. If you have any questions or concerns, please call or stop by the police department.

BIG NEWS….He decided to try to sneak back!!

Buckeye Chuck has officially been spotted again — now behind the wheel on an Ohio back road just as “spring” tried to show up for about 12 minutes… and then immediately got replaced by clouds, wind, and emotional confusion.
Authorities say the situation escalated quickly. Multiple Ohio State Highway Patrol cruisers in pursuit, lights flashing, helicopter overhead, the whole thing unfolding like a high-stakes operation in weather that can’t make up its mind. One mile it’s dry, next mile it’s flurries, and somehow the wind is always worse.
Witnesses say Chuck didn’t hesitate.
Straight down the road, gripping the wheel like he just checked the forecast and chose violence.
No panic. No hesitation.
Just full commitment to whatever this has turned into.
Officials are advising residents to avoid back roads, especially anywhere near open fields, random snow bursts, or that one stretch of highway that somehow always has construction.
As of now, Chuck remains at large somewhere between:
“hey it’s warming up” and
“why is it snowing again?”
Sources confirm: until Ohio gets three consecutive sunny days…
this situation is considered ongoing. 🌨️🚔

BREAKING:

After multiple inaccurate forecasts and growing public suspicion, Buckeye Chuck has officially entered the Witness Protection Program and been relocated out of Ohio.
Sources confirm he is now living somewhere in the Southwest under a new identity — possibly Chuck Martinez — where the weather stays consistent and nobody asks him about six more weeks of anything.
Neighbors say he blends in perfectly.
Flip-flops year-round.
Morning coffee on the porch.
Grabs the newspaper like a man who has never seen freezing rain hit sideways at 7AM.
He does not discuss Ohio.
He does not acknowledge shadows.
And if you even mention the words “early spring,” he reportedly just smiles, nods… and changes the subject.
Officials insist this isn’t fleeing — it’s “protective relocation.”
Because back in Ohio, the weather is still doing whatever it wants.
One day it’s 34°, windy, and your car is somehow covered in salt once again.
The next day 65° and sunny.
And somewhere in the distance, you can almost hear Chuck thinking:
“Yeah… I made the right call leaving.” 🌤️🌵🐿️

Have a great weekend, everyone.
