Memorial Day: Honoring the Fallen
Today we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice protects the freedoms we enjoy every day.

📘 Memorial Day Facts:
• Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day, first observed after the Civil War.
• It became an official federal holiday in 1971.
• The National Moment of Remembrance occurs at 3:00 PM local time — a minute of silence to honor those who gave all.
• More than 1.3 million Americans have lost their lives in military service since the founding of our country.

As we gather with family and friends this weekend, let’s take time to reflect, remember, and honor the heroes who never came home.

We know summer is approaching and Alabama's heat is no joke 🌡☀

Before the fun begins, remember that drowning is fast, silent, and preventable.
Stay within arm’s reach of young swimmers, designate a Water Watcher, keep gates secured, and always fully supervise around water.
A safe summer is a fun summer. 🛟🏖️

🔥 Can you spot what’s wrong in this graphic?
As summer approaches, many of us are getting ready for camping trips and time outdoors. ⛺🌲
Before you head out, make sure fire safety is part of your plan.

Even a small campfire can become dangerous quickly. Always:
• Keep water or an extinguisher close by
• Pay attention to weather and wind conditions
• Never leave a fire unattended
• Fully extinguish the fire before walking away

Wildfires can start faster than you think — and they’re preventable.
Enjoy the outdoors, McCalla, and keep safety at the center of every adventure.
