REMINDER! Road & Bridge now takes public inquiries through a form on the county website. This new system helps ensure that resources are directed to the highest priority issues while maintaining transparency and consistency.
Requests fall into three priority levels:
🟥Priority 1: Public safety issue. Immediate response. An immediate risk to public safety, significant roadway damage, or a threat to life, health, or property. (Example: roadway washout, fallen tree over road, flooding across roadway, bridge or culvert failures)
🟨Priority 2: Urgent maintenance issue. Response within the week. Not an immediate hazard, but it needs prompt evaluation to keep it from getting worse or disrupting service. (Example: shoulder erosion, plugged culvert, significant potholes)
🟩Priority 3: General complaint or service request. Monitored and folded into planned work. Handled through routine maintenance, future work planning, or ongoing monitoring. (Examples: dust complaints, requests for grading, roadway improvement requests, general service suggestions)
What helps us most: the road name and nearest cross street, what you are seeing, and a phone number in case the crew has a question.
To access the new system, visit our website and navigate to the Road and Bridge Department pages. From there, click on the green "Public Inquiries" button or access directly at https://www.co.valley.id.us/.../roadandbridge/publicinquires
