On 12/5/23 Vinton County EMS chief Veronica McQuirt officially retired. Veronica has spent the last 35 years serving the people of Vinton county, providing emergency care, compassion & devoting her time to care for the ones in need at all hours. We thank you for your dedication, service, leadership throughout so many years , including a pandemic, and the friendships that have been made. Please join us in congratulating her on her retirement , what a accomplishment!

Ty has been located and is unharmed. A detailed press release will be issued later.

The Vinton County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate an 18 year old missing male with disabilities named Ty. Ty was last seen in a wooded area near Lake Alma State Park.

Ty was reportedly last seen wearing a blue hoodie, red shirt, with shorts.

If seen please contact with Vinton County Sheriff’s Office at 740-596-5242 or dial 911.
