Message from Dickens County emergency management:

Extreme fire weather conditions is expected for our region today and we may experience more in the near future. This type of weather will make it difficult or impossible for firefighters to stop any fire advancement. Citizens should be ready to take actions if an evacuation order is given by a public official. Evacuation notifications can come in the forms of alerts on television, cellular phones, NOAA weather radios, town warning sirens, or emergency crews knocking door to door on residences. It is important to follow any instructions that is given with the evacuation order. Official information and updates will be given through county and city pages as well as fire department pages. Please avoid misinformation. If cellular service is down information will be spread by word of mouth from emergency services.
