🎉 Marshmallow Challenge Success!

Our 6th grade Science students took on the Marshmallow Challenge using spaghetti, string, tape, and one giant marshmallow. Their goal was build the tallest freestanding structure they could.

The winning team’s tower stood just over 16.5 inches tall, and the teamwork was just as impressive as the engineering.

Way to go, Vanguards! 💚👏🏻

🏐 Volleyball Alumni & Youth Night — September 8

We’re excited to celebrate both our volleyball alumni and our youth players at our home match on Tuesday, September 8.

🖤 Alumni Recognition

Volleyball alumni are invited to join us and be honored for their contributions to our program.
• Please arrive by 6:15pm
• Alumni will be announced onto the court before the match, right after our youth
• Alumni, youth, and current players will join together for a Heights huddle before the game

💛 Youth Night

Youth players are invited to be part of the pre‑game fun during our match against Belleville.
• Arrive at the North Gym near the concession stand by 6:15pm

💬 “I'm so excited to be joining as the new MS Library Aide! I love spending time with my family. I have two girls at WH Elementary, two pugs, and a tabby cat. We moved from Las Vegas and have made Black Earth our home! After many years in hospitality, I'm excited to start this new chapter supporting students, staff and families.”

🥤7th Grade Math Cups Challenge!

7th Grade Math kicked off the year with a hands‑on Cups Challenge. In groups, students were given one rubber band, four pieces of string, and 10 cups. Using only the rubber band and string, teams worked together to move the cups into a series of tower formations.

Each formation became increasingly more difficult, but what stood out was how quickly students improved. As the tasks grew more challenging, groups actually completed them faster, thanks to stronger communication, collaboration, and teamwork. 👏🏻

🥤🎉 Starting the Year with a Flip!

Our 7th grade students kicked off the year with a fun bottle‑flipping activity! Working with partners, students earned 2 points for a successful flip, and if the bottle didn’t land, they answered a question about themselves.

At the end of the hour, each student introduced their partner to the class and shared something new they learned. A great mix of teamwork, laughter, and getting to know one another! 👏🏻

💬 “My name is Aniela Haas, I am the new 6-12 band and choir teacher. I enjoy directing theater shows and being with my family. I worked at Wisconsin Heights in a similar role from 2007 to 2021, and I'm excited to be back.”
