A Blizzard Warning is in effect from 1PM this afternoon through 6pm Monday. The heaviest snow will coincide with the strongest winds Sunday evening into early Monday. Expect heavy blowing snow, visibilities below 1/4 mile, treacherous travel conditions, and sporadic power outages. Our new snowfall totals are between 18 to 24 inches.

Weather Alert: Our area has been upgraded to a BLIZZARD WARNING from 1pm tomorrow, 2/22 to 6pm Monday, 2/23. We will experience 14-20” of heavy, wet snow & wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible.

💨 Wind gusts: 50 mph

Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages.

⚠️ A strong nor'easter will bring heavy snowfall to Maywood Sunday into Monday. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Maywood, with a blizzard warning very possible by tomorrow.

❄️The snowfall forecast brings 1-1.5 ft of snow area-wide, with the higher total still possible. A Blizzard Warning could see whiteout conditions with visibilities below a quarter mile in heavy blowing snow and winds gusting up to 55 mph.

Winds will also be a major issue during this storm, with power outages possible.

Winter Storm Warnings continue for Maywood and the entie surrounding area. Thjs Winter storm will cause major disruption to transportation with white out conditions possible Sunday into Sunday night. In addition, a prolonged period of frigid air will affect the region through next week.

Snow is expected to begin around daybreak on Sunday and continue into late Sunday night. Mixing with sleet or freezing rain is possible towards the end of he storm. Regardless, a foot of snow or more will have fallen by the time.

Monday will have snow showers but arctic air locked in will keep us below freezing temperatures for a week. The snow will need to be removed in accordance with borough ordinances to ensure pedestrian safety.

Please stay off the roads tomorrow as the Governor has implemented a state of emergency directing non essential travel to be suspended.

Snow may begin late Saturday night with the heaviest snow likely falling Sunday into a portion of Sunday evening. Considerable disruption to transportation and daily life is possible. We urge residents to take preparedness actions now and monitor local news and weather.

A quick, but powerful winter storm will affect Maywood this evening until tomorrow morning. Heavy snow rates between 7pm and 1am will make travel dangerous. Total accumulation of 6-10 inches is expected.

A high impact storm system will impact Maywood beginning Sunday morning and continuing through Monday evening. 1-3 inches of rain (with possible 4 inch amounts), winds sustained 25-30mph with gusts to 50, and a long duration event. We advise residents to take in lose items fr their yards, clear their downspouts for proper drainage and stay up to date monitoring your local news channels.

Our first winter storm will arrive in Maywood early this afternoon. Currently, we are under a Winter Storm Warning for 5-8 inches of snow. Snow begins around 1pm and continues until after midnight. Below is the briefing from the National Weather Service. Make sure you clear your sidewalks and driveways tomorrow morning because the coldest air of the season immediately follows the storm on Monday.

Your emergency services are always available, even during a winter storm. Call 911 for all emergencies and 201-845-8800 for all non emergencies. Reminder that all vehicles must be removed from the street this evening and to clear fire hydrants on your property of snow within 24 hours.
