🇺🇸 Memorial Day in Chautauqua County

On this Memorial Day, Chautauqua County joins communities across the nation in honoring and remembering the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States.

Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we are privileged to enjoy today. As residents gather with family and friends, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the meaning of this day and to remember those who never returned home.

As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, we are reminded that our nation’s history has been shaped by generations of service members whose courage and sacrifice made it possible.

We also encourage residents to proudly fly the American flag in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

📌 Please note: All Chautauqua County offices are closed today, Monday, May 25, 2026, with the exception of essential and emergency services.

From Chautauqua County Government, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Local leaders, healthcare professionals, and educators recently came together to address key challenges — like cost, transportation, and workforce shortages — and highlight solutions, including building a stronger pipeline of dental professionals right here at home.

👏 Congratulations to Jamestown Community College and Monroe Community College for receiving Champion Awards for their work preparing the next generation of dental hygienists!
