[ Friday Morning Update ] The Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisory area have been expanded this morning. Within the pink Warning area, 2-6 inches of snow are forecast, with locally higher amounts possible. Within the purple Advisory area, up to 1 inch of snow is currently forecast. Any snow accumulations will produce slick roadways and impact travel.

One of our volunteer fireman will be taking a trailer of supplies to North Carolina Friday morning. Thank you to 220 Ministries for use of the trailer! If you would like to donate you can drop off at his shop at 416 Brumbalow rd, Pendergrass, GA 30567. You can also call him for pickup.

Our thoughts and prayers are going out to the Apalachee High School community, as well as the Greene County Fire community. Both have suffered tragic losses today and our hearts are with those affected.

Today is the day, Jackson County!

An additional lane on I-85 SB is NOW open to traffic! 🎉 This milestone follows the recent opening of the same segment of I-85 NB as part of the I-85 Widening, Phase III project.

The 13-mile project focusing on widening I-85 NB and SB from two to three lanes from US 129 to US 441 and replacing and widening four mainline bridges in two locations intended to improve traffic flow through the corridor.

Active construction will be ongoing in the area as crews work to finalize paving on the remaining segment of I-85, and complete work on the new bridges.
