🔥Training Burn Notice – Maysville Fire & EMS🔥

On Monday, June 15, 2026, at approximately 6:00 PM, Maysville Fire & EMS will be conducting a live fire training exercise at a residence located on Jenkins Avenue near the intersection of 1st Street and A Street.

This training provides firefighters and emergency personnel with valuable hands-on experience in fire suppression, search and rescue operations, and incident command under realistic conditions. Live fire training is a critical part of maintaining the skills and readiness needed to protect our community safely and effectively.

Residents in the area may notice smoke, fire apparatus, and increased emergency vehicle activity during the exercise. Please do not be alarmed, as this is a planned training event conducted under controlled conditions and in compliance with all applicable safety standards.

We appreciate the cooperation of the property owner and the continued support of our community as we work to strengthen our skills and preparedness.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Chief Jordan & Rep. Chris Humphrey at the legislative day 2026.

It was a pleasure hosting Michael Jordan, Maysville Fire and EMS, at our legislative office in Raleigh this week. We had a productive conversation about emergency services, public safety, and the challenges facing first responders in Eastern North Carolina. I appreciate Chief Jordan’s leadership and commitment to protecting lives and strengthening our communities.

📢 Public Reminder 📢
We are excited to remind everyone that our new ISO rating of 3 officially takes effect on May 1, 2026. This improvement may result in insurance savings, so we encourage residents and business owners to contact their insurance providers to see if they qualify for a reduced rate.
We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to our members for their hard work, commitment, and dedication in making this achievement possible. This rating is a direct result of their efforts and service to our community.
Please see the attached letters from the NC Office of the State Fire Marshal (NC OSFM) for additional details.

Today is pump testing day. We do this every year to ensure our pumps are working exactly as they should so we’re ready to respond when the community needs us. Preparedness isn’t optional — it’s essential.

Official Statement

Today, while one of our fire personnel was returning from a training, our fire vehicle was struck on the side by a passenger car on Highway 17 in the Deppe area. The impact caused the apparatus to overturn.

Our firefighter was transported to Naval Hospital and is currently in stable condition.

We appreciate the quick response from assisting agencies and the community’s concern.

Chief Jordan

🚒Very High Fire Danger returns to the state for the remainder of the week into the weekend! Our moisture from Sunday is starting to dry up, and looking at the data, the forecast supports high fire to very high fire danger ‼️ over the next week.

Why is the fire danger high!!
Critically Dry Fuels: Following one of the driest Marches on record, soil moisture and stream levels are at very low. This means grass, brush, and trees are extremely dry and ready to ignite. Weather conditions are also exacerbating the situation; low humidity levels and gusty winds over the next few days will keep fire levels high.

-An open burn ban remains in effect for all 100 counties until further notice. Please DO NOT BURN.
