Tick season is here! Taking a few minutes to check yourself, your family, and your pets for ticks after spending time outdoors can help prevent serious illnesses. If you find a tick, remove it promptly and properly using fine-tipped tweezers, and monitor the area for any signs of irritation or illness.

When outdoors in the heat, wear lightweight, loose-fitting, and light-colored clothing to reflect heat and sunlight. If you will be spending time outdoors, hats are also a good idea to protect your face and scalp from harmful UV rays. Also, don’t forget to apply sunscreen. weather.gov/safety/heat
