Mason County Animal Shelter The Mason County Animal Shelter is a shelter that has abandoned and discovered dogs. Guests who visit are welcome to visit, spend time with animals.

We encourage all guests to schedule appointments by calling and speaking with the staff. Our shelter is also available for special appointments and events in the Maysville/Mason County area that would encourage pet adoptions. All donations to the Mason County Animal Shelter will be accepted by Mason County Fiscal Court and dispersed through our general fund. Earmarks are encouraged on all forms of donations. We are currently working on developing an online platform, in which, donations can be accepted through our social media account and website - that will be made public as soon as available here on our page. 🇺🇸🐾 Remembering the Dogs of 9/11 🐾🇺🇸

Today, September 11th, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless heroes who responded in the aftermath of one of the darkest days in our nation's history.

Among those heroes were the dogs of 9/11. 🐾

Search-and-rescue dogs worked tirelessly alongside their handlers through the rubble at Ground Zero, searching for survivors and helping locate those who never made it home. Other specially trained dogs provided comfort to rescue workers and survivors, offering a quiet presence during unimaginable grief.

These dogs didn't understand the tragedy unfolding around them. They simply knew their job was to help—and they did so with incredible courage, determination, and loyalty.

Today, we remember the four-legged heroes of 9/11, their handlers, and every person who worked tirelessly in the days and weeks that followed.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

We are so excited to announce a new partnership with One Holland, the franchise group that owns the Maysville Dunkin’ location!

We are incredibly grateful for local businesses that believe in the importance of supporting our shelter animals and helping them get the exposure they deserve. Building strong relationships within our community is so important to us, and partnerships like this are a wonderful way to work together to make a difference. ❤️

Our longtime shelter resident Cane was thrilled to be part of this first opportunity! 🐶 Cane has been waiting patiently for his forever family, and we hope that getting him out into the community and in front of more people will help his perfect person find him. 🏡❤️

A HUGE thank-you to One Holland and the Maysville Dunkin’ team for welcoming Cane and helping us showcase one of our deserving shelter dogs! We look forward to growing this partnership and creating even more opportunities for our animals. 🐾
