Early this morning, the Frisco Police Department executed a search warrant on Chambers Creek Circle in the City of Maypearl in connection with an investigation in the city of Frisco.
The search warrant was completed without incident. No arrests were made, and there is no ongoing threat to the public related to this operation.
The Maypearl Police Department was not notified of the warrant service before its ex*****on. The department became aware of the operation only after a concerned resident contacted the Chief of Police. Upon receiving that information, the Chief immediately contacted both the Frisco Police Department and the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office to confirm the nature of the operation and ensure there were no additional public safety concerns requiring a response from the Maypearl Police Department.
We understand that seeing a large law enforcement presence can be concerning to residents. We appreciate the community members who reached out and are committed to keeping our citizens informed whenever information is available to us.

Friendly Reminder from the Maypearl Police Department

The Maypearl Police Department’s page is intended for sharing information, answering general inquiries, and promoting transparency with our community.

If you need immediate police assistance, please do not send a Facebook message. Instead, contact the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at (972) 937-6060 so an officer can be dispatched as quickly as possible.

Calling dispatch also helps us:

* Properly document calls for service.
* Maintain accurate call status records.
* Ensure the county knows an officer’s location should emergency assistance be needed.

If you have questions regarding city ordinances, building codes, or would like to provide information to the Police Department, you are welcome to send us a message through this page. While we make every effort to respond promptly, please understand that our page is not monitored 24 hours a day. We will do our best to respond within 24 hours.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in helping us serve the Maypearl community safely and efficiently.

Condolences to Cherokee County PCT 3 and Judge Grimes for their loss of Constable Eddie Lee. He served as Constable for 20 years after retiring from the Fort Worth Police Department. He was an inspiration to the citizens he served and inspiring the younger generations of law enforcement. Eddie you will be missed.

Good evening,

This is a friendly reminder that if you need police services, please call the Ellis County Sheriff’s Dispatch at 972-937-6060.

The Maypearl Police Department currently has three full-time officers, and we typically have one officer on duty per shift, or officers rotating on call when no officer is scheduled. When citizens call the office number or an officer’s cell phone directly, it can delay the police response.

Our officers are doing the best they can while handling multiple responsibilities, including responding to service calls, writing reports, conducting traffic safety enforcement, assisting other agencies, and helping with major fire calls.

Calling dispatch ensures that the on-duty officer is notified as quickly as possible and helps us respond more efficiently.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Good afternoon,

It has been brought to our attention that there are early morning traffic issues on Old Buena Vista Road. Unfortunately, the Mayberry, oops I mean the Maypearl Police Department does not have jurisdiction over that roadway.

If you are requesting additional patrols in that area, please contact the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office at 972.937.6060. They will be more than happy to assist you.

Thank you.

Good morning.
As many of you are aware, there is currently a water main leak at 4th Street and Claunch. City crews are on site and actively working on repairs.

For the next few hours, we ask all residents to please conserve water, as the city’s groundwater storage is limited and running low.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation while repairs are underway.

Let me start by saying thank you for your concern on this matter.

The officer in question was hired prior to the current chief’s arrival and successfully passed the psychological evaluation overseen by the city. After speaking with TCOLE and prior agencies where he applied, it was clarified that he did not fail a psychological exam — he only did not advance in an interview process.

This officer has consistently dedicated and volunteered his time to this community. He has not been rejected by every department; rather, he chose to remain with Maypearl. He has served Maypearl for nearly two years, during which he has been observed and trained by veteran officers. He has demonstrated positive interactions with both the community and members of the department.

It is unfortunate when incomplete information is used in a way that could harm someone’s livelihood. I encourage everyone to gather all the facts before drawing conclusions. The same facts were reviewed by TCOLE investigators, who found no wrongdoing, misconduct, or poor decision-making.

Unless there is evidence of poor performance or misconduct, there is no basis for dismissal. He has completed all required steps, including a fit-for-duty evaluation, which he passed.

Again, if there are concerns, I encourage the use of open records requests to review the facts before making accusations on social media.

Thank you to whoever posted this today — a good laugh is healthy for the soul.

At this time, the Maypearl Police Department is conducting patrols throughout town to monitor road conditions and provide updates to City Administration and Ellis County Emergency Management. We are also continuing to respond to any calls for service or assistance from citizens in need.

Please drive carefully, reduce your speed, and maintain at least three car lengths of following distance.

Good afternoon,

The situation at 5th Street and Morton Street has created an inconvenience due to increased school traffic and motorists using a private driveway to access FM 157. As a result, Maypearl Public Works temporarily taped off the east side of Morton Street from 5th Street to ensure the property owner and other affected residents are respected during the road closures.

The City received multiple complaints regarding vehicles driving through private yards and causing damage to grass and property. Prior to taking this action, the City was advised by neighboring residents that the Public Works measures would not restrict access for any residents and would effectively prevent drivers from cutting through the private driveway.

If there are alternative solutions that would better address the situation, please contact City Hall so the City may review them and make any appropriate adjustments.
