A note for those traveling on 221/Chesnee Highway through Mayo:

The new traffic signals (red lights) at the intersection of 221/ Davis Trading Post Road/ Old Schoolhouse Road have been activated and are now in service. These signals are a much needed improvement for the intersection. With the signals being new it is easy to not realize the lights are operational and the risk is raised of running the light. Thank you to our state and local representatives who have worked to get these signals.

🚒 Mayo Area Fire District is hiring part-time firefighters.

Minimum qualifications:
✅ Firefighter 1 & 2
✅ RIT and Rescuing the Rescuer (preferred)
✅ Ability to work a 24/48 schedule

If you are certified and want to stay active in the fire service while serving a strong local community, this is a solid opportunity.
