The City of Maynardville is applying for Local Park and Recreation Funds (LPRF) in the amount of $400,000 for improvements to Liberty Park. The grant requires a local match of 50%, which brings the total project cost to $800,000. The scope includes parking for visitors and food trucks, a restroom building, and access paths/bridge to connect Liberty Park to the splashpad. The scope of the grant application was prepared by referencing the needs within the City’s Park and Recreation Master Plan. Please see the slides below for more information – these slides are required to display information in accordance with program guidelines.

PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE
City of Maynardville

The City of Maynardville is pleased to announce two upcoming public meetings to discuss the proposed development of access paths, parking and a new restroom facility at Liberty Park. The purpose of these meetings is to provide information to the community and to obtain public input and suggestions regarding the City’s 2026 LPRF grant application. Residents and interested parties are encouraged to participate in one or both of the following sessions:

1. In Person Public Meeting (City Hall)
• Date: Tuesday, March 10, 2026
• Time: 6 PM
• Location: 125 Johnson Rd.
2. Virtual Public Meeting (Facebook)
• Date: Wednesday, March 18, 2026
• Time: 2:00 PM
• Location: City of Maynardville’s page
