A reinforcing shot of cold air arrives this weekend. Wind Chills likely below zero in our higher terrain locations and single digits in the east TN valley and elsewhere.

Accumulating snowfall is becoming more likely with the weekend system. This will be an all snow event. Best chances for accumulating snow are east of I-75, especially across the northeast TN and east TN mountains, and portions of southwest VA.



Friday, 1/30/26
Light snow showers move in on Friday. Little to no impacts during the day time hours.
Snow intensity picks up during the overnight hours and travel conditions worsen through the night.

Saturday, 1/31/26
Snow continues through most of Saturday and exits east Saturday night.
Poor travel conditions expected through the day and overnight across the east TN mountains, portions of northeast TN, and into southwest VA. Blowing and drifting snow, due to gusty winds, is likely in the higher elevations.
Wind Chills below zero in the mountains. Wind Chills in the single digits in the valley.
