This week, a group of Mayfield High School students traveled to Lexington for the KHSAA HYPE Student Leadership Conference. HYPE brings student-athletes and leaders together for a day of breakout sessions on topics like goal setting, relationship building, and teamwork — giving students the chance to gather ideas they can bring back and share with their teams and the wider student body.

The event was staged and presented by the KHSAA Student-Athlete Group.

Students representing MHS with pride were Sadie Robbins, Kendra Winstead, Braden Bass, Emma Edwards, and Rylan Crouch.

Mayfield Independent Schools’ Nutrition Director, Leah Feagin, is attending a national school nutrition event at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) headquarters in Washington, D.C. today.

Hosted by USDA Secretary Rollins and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the event highlights the "Make America Healthy Again" initiative. The gathering spotlights new policy updates and strategic investments designed to enhance the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

Feagin joins a diverse group of leaders and key stakeholders across agriculture, healthcare, nutrition, education, and local communities to discuss actionable ways to improve the health and daily well-being of the nation's school children.
