At HRBRRD, every day is day. We take great pride in maintaining critically important infrastructure in support of our flood protection & flow augmentation missions. On this Awareness Day, we celebrate the massive progress made on our generational investments in New York's water-retaining infrastructure. In the Adirondacks, construction is officially underway on the major rehabilitation of the Old Forge and Sixth Lake Dams in the Fulton Chain of Lakes. We are also marking major milestones in the multi-year rehabilitation of the 127-year-old Indian Lake Dam in Hamilton County. Along with the recently completed capital upgrades at the Hawkinsville Dam on the Black River and our ongoing planning for the major rehabilitation of the Conklingville Dam in Saratoga County, these projects demonstrate the Board’s strong commitment to protecting public health. We are incredibly grateful to Governor Hochul and the NYS Legislature for their unprecedented investment in this critical infrastructure.

Teamwork in action at the Sacandaga Field Office! 🌊
Our HRBRRD staff had a great time working alongside teacher Brian Henry and these talented Broadalbin-Perth Science Research students.
From final construction tweaks to getting the custom fish cribs prepped and organized, a lot of hard work goes into managing the Great Sacandaga Lake habitat.

⚓ Great Sacandaga Lake Buoy Deployment Underway!
Yesterday, our team was out on the water assisting the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) to get the navigation and hazard buoys in place. We are back at it again today, working hard to help them ensure the lake is safe for the upcoming boating season.

While we provide our workboat and crew to assist with the logistics of setting them up, these navigation and hazard buoys belong to and are maintained by the NYSDEC. Please give our crew and the DEC team plenty of room if you see us working on the water.

Safe boating everyone!
