This week our organization took part in an Emergency Operation Center (EOC) exercise in conjunction with the exercise. We worked through simulated real life disaster for which national guard forces are brought in to assist with the incident. The April storms across the state were an example of this in real life.

*** POST EXPIRED: Sunday's second round of storms will remain to our southeast. ***

Another complex forecast scenario is on tap for the area today as morning storms move through. There is some potential these will be severe (damaging winds, large hail) but how long these linger through the morning/early afternoon will play a big impact on if we see storms this evening. And that's a BIG if. Should the morning storms play out like what we're thinking, the threat for evening storms would be low overall. BUT - if storms can get going during the evening, they would have a damaging wind and flooding threat with them and would probably have a higher severe potential than the morning activity ⛈️

Showers and thunderstorms will roll west to east through the region this afternoon and evening. Some of these may (level 1 to 2 out of 5 risk) become severe with mainly a risk for large hail and damaging winds.
