WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT . . .
Maumee City Schools has been designated as a Project ADAM Heart Safe School District through Project ADAM Ohio at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Project ADAM is a nationally recognized program dedicated to helping schools prevent sudden cardiac death through education, preparedness, and emergency response planning.
Project ADAM Ohio, based at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, is one of 53 Project ADAM affiliates across the country working to improve cardiac emergency preparedness in schools and communities. As part of this designation, Maumee City Schools has worked to strengthen and formalize our districtwide cardiac emergency response efforts. This includes:
-Development and implementation of Cardiac Emergency Response Plans (CERPs)
-Staff education and training related to sudden cardiac arrest response
-AED preparedness and accessibility
-Practice drills and emergency response procedures
-Ongoing collaboration with medical and safety professionals
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen unexpectedly to students, staff, or visitors, and immediate response is critical. Becoming a Heart Safe School District reflects Maumee’s continued commitment to providing a safe learning and working environment for everyone who comes into our schools.
Thank you to our school nurses, administrators, cardiac emergency response team members, local emergency responders, and community partners for their support and dedication throughout this process.
