Update: The fire started at 11 PM Wednesday night. Initial calls reported it near the Railroad Bridge. Local agencies worked all night to slow the forward progress of the fire and protect structures. Thursday morning, State mobilization was approved, and air resources were requested. Mobilization resources were assigned duties as they arrived. Some were sent to the line to support and relieve firefighters working since last night; others were placed on standby for night operations tonight. SE Washington Incident Management Team (IMT), Team 1, assumed command of the fire at 8 PM Thursday, July 23, 2026. Tonight, crews will continue to actively fight the fire when safe to do so. Hot spots around structures will be a focus, with the safety of crews and residents and the protection of property remaining top priorities. There is a Temporary Flight Restriction in place over the fire area. Do not fly your drones in or around the fire. Air resources cannot fly if you do!
