We’re excited to announce our newest Mattapan Book Club series, The Toni Morrison Reader.

Join your fellow readers at the Mattapan Branch for tea, light snacks, and good conversation. Registration recommended but not required. New members always welcome!

This series will span over six months and will include discussions on Morrison’s first five novels: The Bluest Eye, Sula, Tar Baby, The Song of Solomon, and Beloved. Our series will conclude with an author talk from Namwali Serpell about her recent publication, On Morrison.

Serpell is an award-winning novelist, literary critic, and professor of English at Harvard University. Her book of essays, On Morrison, published February 17, 2026, is a national bestseller and was reviewed on the cover of the New York Times Book Review.
