Did you know that licensed family child care homes offer a safe, nurturing place for children to learn and grow? 🏡✨

These small, home-based programs provide flexible hours, a family-like atmosphere, and are licensed by the state to meet important health and safety standards. Family child care homes can welcome up to 14 children at a time, and parents can find information about their licensing history at any time.

Sacramento County schools are becoming centers of wellness.

Through two new programs expanding our school-based mental health model, the Sacramento County Office of Education is strengthening support for students and families across the region. With the School Based Mental Health and Wellness (SBMHW) Program, SCOE continues placing trained mental health clinicians directly on school campuses, ensuring students have easier access to care, connection, and compassionate support.

These new efforts, built in partnership with the Sacramento County Department of Health, deepen SCOE's commitment to improving schools and empowering students through prevention, early intervention, and whole child support.

Superintendent David W. Gordon shares, “Our clinicians function as an extension of the county’s health system, while schools remain the front door for students. Together, we’ve built a prevention model that is both sustainable and scalable.”
