As the new school year begins, Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company would like to thank all of our teachers, aides, school nurses, bus drivers, school security, custodial staff, grounds crews, and Suffolk County Crossing Guards for everything you do each day to keep our students safe, healthy, and supported.

As students throughout our community head back to school this week, the Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company reminds everyone to use extra caution on our roadways.
School buses will once again be making frequent stops, and more children will be walking, biking, and crossing streets. Please slow down, stay alert, obey school-zone speed limits, and NEVER pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing. A few extra seconds of patience can help prevent a tragedy.
🚸 Watch carefully for children at crosswalks and bus stops.

πŸŽ’πŸ“š GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY! πŸ“šπŸŽ’

For the past two months, the members of the Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company have been collecting school supplies to help local students start the new school year prepared and ready to succeed.

Thanks to the generosity of our members, neighbors, and community supporters, we were proud to donate the collected supplies to two incredible organizations β€” Branches and Lighthouse Mission β€” who work tirelessly to support individuals and families in need throughout our area and surrounding communities.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and helped make our School Supply Drive a success. Every backpack, notebook, folder, pencil, and other school supply donated will help make a difference for a child and family in our community.

At Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company, serving our community goes far beyond answering 911 calls. We are proud to support organizations like Branches and Lighthouse Mission and the wonderful work they do every day.
This Sunday, August 23rd We partnered up with Mastic Fire Department to also have a Backpack Giveaway starting at 11am at Mastic Fire Department Headquarters.

πŸš‘ Investing in the Future of EMS! πŸš‘

Over the past few weeks, Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company was proud to host our Youth Summer Series at our headquarters, giving local youth a hands-on introduction to Emergency Medical Services.

Throughout the program, our students learned about ambulance operations, splinting, Stop the Bleed, Narcan administration, allergic reactions and asthmatic emergencies, strokes, diabetic emergencies, heart attacks, and much more. Each student also successfully completed training and became certified in First Aid and CPR! πŸ‘

This program was about more than simply learning new skills. It gave these young people an opportunity to see firsthand what EMS is all about, learn from our providers, ask questions, and gain valuable knowledge that could someday help them save a life.

These young people are the future of our community and potentially the future of EMS. We are incredibly proud of everyone who participated and grateful for the opportunity to introduce them to the rewarding world of emergency medical services. Whether they choose EMS as a future career or simply take the skills they learned with them throughout life, we hope this experience made a lasting impact.

Thank you to all of our instructors and members who helped make the Youth Summer Series possible, and congratulations to all of our students on completing the program! πŸš‘β€οΈ
