As a trailblazer in the golf industry and a champion for perseverance, inclusion, and excellence, Renee brings a unique perspective that you won't want to miss.

Born and raised in the East Canton area, she learned the game at Clearview Golf Club, the historic course built and operated by her father, Bill Powell. Renee joined the LPGA Tour in 1967 as its second African American member after Althea Gibson.
Tour Experience: Powell competed in more than 250 professional golf tournaments globally.International
Breakthrough: She became the first woman to compete in a British men's professional tournament.
PGA Milestone: In 1979, she became the first woman head professional of a private golf club in the United Kingdom.
Awards & Honors: A World Golf Hall of Fame inductee, she also serves as the Head Golf Professional at Clearview today. You can explore more of her family's rich history directly via the Clearview Golf Club platform.
