Nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives on this day 25 years ago. September 11, 2001 is a day we must never forget.

Today we remember their sacrifices. We also honor the courage of the first responders, transportation workers, and all of those who answered the call of duty that day to serve the country.

Their bravery will never be forgotten. They are the patriots who make America the greatest country in the world.

Flagged from the Cayman Islands, this sleek 146-foot (45m) superyacht—built by renowned Dutch shipyard Feadship—drew plenty of eyes 👀 from the visitor center observation deck as it dropped 38 feet down through the lock chamber.

We had the pleasure of watching the Chemical Mariner make her transit through Dwight D. Eisenhower Lock.

Flying the flag of Malta, this impressive 440-foot tanker is currently en route to Freeport in the Bahamas.

The timing couldn't have been better! We were thrilled to welcome a visiting bus tour group all the way from Delaware out on the observation decks. There’s nothing quite like sharing the excitement of seeing massive ocean-going vessels up close in real time—watching maritime transit in action always brings our community and visitors together.

Safe travels to the crew of the Chemical Mariner as they head south! 🌊⚓️
