No hazardous materials or liquids
Loads must be tarped

• 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday)

THE TOWN OF MASSENA HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT IS SEEKING A
FULL-TIME MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (MEO)

Starting salary is $27.97 per hour, along with a generous benefits package. Applicants must have a valid NY State CDL Class B driver’s license and possess good mechanical ability. Applications may be obtained at the Massena Town Hall located at 60 Main Street Room 3 (Town Clerk’s Office), Massena, NY 13662 beginning November 25, 2024 and dropped off to the same location no later than 4 PM on December 6, 2024.

UPDATE FROM MED ON STORM FROM 8/29.

Starting at about 8:15 Monday night, we had a series of outages due to high winds coupled with heavy rain.

We lost power on West Hatfield St. and SH56 due to a tree coming down across the lines on West Hatfield.

We also had a number of outages due to downed trees/limbs in the Homecroft neighborhood. Large areas impacted by this include Stoughton, Beach, Garfield, and Washington St.
There were a few customers impacted due to trees down on East Ave and South Ave. Even though the number of customers affected in this neighborhood was small, it took us quite a while to resolve.

There were other outages through the night but these were the more notable outages.

It was a strange storm. Looking through the Homecroft neighborhood there were streets that had multiple large limbs down and next street over absolutely nothing was impacted
