We had to copy our friends over at and make some snow safety tips for EMS!

Please remember volunteers will be staying at the firehouse to ensure we can get to you incase of an emergency. While the volunteers are leaving their homes and families during the snow to ensure your safety, please only call if it’s a true emergency. The goal is to keep our members and the community as safe as possible.

Enjoy the snow! ❄️

Yesterday, Rescue Company 3 had the opportunity to visit the Nassau County Police Department Aviation Unit. Our crew met with their flight team to learn more about how they respond to medical calls, when it’s appropriate to request a helicopter, and how we can work together to keep our patients and crew safe while operating as efficiently as possible.

A huge thank you to Pilot Rogers and Tactical Flight Officer Gomez for the tour and for sharing your expertise with us. We’d also like to thank Ex-Chief Regis Beneville for helping coordinate this valuable training experience. 🚁

Living in a family friendly community (and having the firehouse across from a pediatric urgent care) means staying sharp on our pediatric skills is a must. Respiratory issues are one of the most common concerns in kids, so we were incredibly grateful to have Sal, a seasoned paramedic and Chief of Bellmore Merrick EMS join us for a refresher on pediatric respiratory emergencies. πŸš‘
