Welcome to another installment of Jennifer's Gems!

As an employee of Capital Area District Libraries for more than 20 years with 17 of them spent as Head Librarian of the Aurelius Branch, I've noticed that there are lots of "hidden gems" that our library system offers. My goal is to make you aware of these gems so that they aren't hidden to you any longer!

Today's hidden gem highlights a special benefit you can get this summer with your CADL library card! As you may be aware, this summer's special reading theme is "Unearth a Story" and will feature dinosaurs. This summer, Dow Gardens in Midland will host a "Dinosaurs Around the World" exhibit featuring 10 animatronic dinosaurs. On Wednesdays, June 10, July 15, & August 12 from 4:30–8 PM, admission to this event is free with your library card!

In addition, as a Grand Prize in CADL's Summer Reading Challenge, one lucky summer reader will win a Dow Gardens "Dinosaurs Around the World" package, complete with tickets to the attraction, a gas card, and lunch! Be sure to participate in summer reading for your chance to win!
