Custodian/Bus Washer Opening
Do you like to make things clean and neat? The North Iowa Area Council of Governments' opening for a custodian/bus washer may be just the fit for you! The position primarily involves cleaning and light maintenance of building/grounds/buses that are kept in excellent condition. We are offering $20 per hour plus an ideal benefits package with low-deductible health insurance, fabulous IPERS-retirement, and more. Hours of work: Monday-Thursday 10:30-7 and Friday 8-4:30. 🚌 Driver Spotlight‼️ Dennis Yost

Dennis Yost (Mitchell County Driver) has worked for Region 2 Transit since 2018. Prior to working for Region 2 Transit, Dennis had a 12 year construction career. Dennis has two sons, nine grandkids and has been married to his wife since 1978. When he’s not at work, Dennis enjoys helping his friends with projects, traveling, and spending time with his family. We asked Dennis which accomplishment here at Region 2 he is most proud of, and he told us about the time he was able to save someone from falling off of the lift. Dennis says his favorite thing about working at Region 2 Transit is his bosses understanding on what it’s like to be out driving. Dennis has been very important to the people of Mitchell County for many years and we are lucky to be able to call him a Region 2 Transit driver. He takes pride in his work and is willing to help however needed. Thank you, Dennis, for all that you do!

The North Iowa Area Council of Governments (NIACOG) in Mason City is seeking a qualified candidate to fill our fiscal officer position. Workday hours are typically 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The salary range is $60,000 to $70,000 with an excellent benefits package including: IPERS retirement, low-deductible health insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and flex. This position manages NIACOG's financial system, coordinates employee benefits, and facilitates the audit process. Fund accounting and QuickBooks experience are preferred. Human Resources experience is a plus. Requirements include: a 4-year degree and 2 years of experience (w/ exceptions related to replacing one year of education per 3 years of experience). The North Iowa Area Council of Governments/Region 2 Transit seeks a self - motivated team player to maintain and repair the agency’s transit vehicles and buildings and grounds. The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of public transit vehicles and have or ability to obtain and maintain a Class C CDL w/passenger endorsement. This is a full time position with excellent compensation and benefits package.
