Mason City Fire Department Explorers The Mason City Fire Department Explorer's program gives youth ages 14-20 the opportunity to experience all aspects of the professional fire service

MCFD Explorers is a hands-on program that introduces young people ages 14-21, to a career in the Fire Service/ EMS. Our Explorers meet 2 Wednesdays a month to learn fire suppression, search and rescue, CPR, ladders, and so much more! Once they turn 16, Explorers are also allowed to participate in ride-alongs at the fire station. There are countless opportunities for Explorers to get involved in th

e department, whether it's public education, fundraising, or simply cleaning the trucks. We are passionate about teaching and equipping the next generation of public servants.

The MCFD Explorers had the incredible opportunity to tour the Mason City Airport and check out their brand-new fire truck! We're grateful to Dave for generously taking the time out of his evening to show us around and share his insights.
