Starting Wednesday, September 16 and continuing through Friday, September 25, the City will be flushing water mains in the Northeast quadrant of town—all areas east of Federal Avenue and north of Highway 122.
During this period, water customers may notice some discoloration in their water. While the water remains safe to drink, caution is advised when doing laundry, as discolored water may cause staining.
To ensure safety and efficient operations, please do not park near or across from fire hydrants during the flushing period.

Twenty-five years later, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders, service members, and countless individuals whose courage and compassion emerged in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Today, we remember those we lost, those who answered the call, and the families forever changed.

May we never forget.

Flags across Iowa will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Friday, September 11, in observance of Patriot Day and in memory of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
