Cape Cod and Islands Commission on the Status of Women The purpose of the Commission shall be to advance women toward full equity in all areas of life and to promote rights and opportunities for all women.

The Cape Cod and Islands Commission on the Status of Women works to advance women toward full equality, on issues for the betterment of women and their families, and to promote opportunities for all women in our region. The Commission’s duties include: studying, reviewing and reporting on the status of women on the Cape and Islands, promoting and facilitating collaboration among local women’s orga

nizations, recommending policies that benefit women to agencies, officers of the state and local government and holding fact-finding hearings and other public forums as it may deem necessary. Applications are welcomed from individuals residing in Barnstable, Dukes, or Nantucket counties with experience in issues pertaining to women. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month (September through June) from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and are open to the public. Get ready for empowering conversations and inspiring connections. The Cape Cod & Islands International Women’s Breakfast is happening on April 7, 2026, from 7:30am–10:30am at Margaritaville Resort Cape, 1225 Iyannough Rd, Hyannis, MA 02601.
