💙 Help support families after su***de loss. 💙

The Samaritans is preparing to launch a Local Outreach to Su***de Survivors (LOSS) Team, connecting people who have recently lost someone to su***de with compassionate support, practical resources, and hope in the immediate aftermath of a loss.

We’re looking for volunteers who want to be part of this important work — including su***de loss survivors and other caring community members.

Interested in learning more? Join us for an upcoming LOSS Team Volunteer Information Session to hear about the program, what volunteering looks like, and how you can get involved. We hope you’ll join us — and help us spread the word to others who may be interested.

Nicole works closely with our Crisis Line team, supporting day-to-day operations and helping ensure our staff have what they need to answer calls and be present for people who reach out to us.

Looking for a meaningful way to give back locally? We are seeking new members to join our volunteer Board of Directors. Our mission is to prevent su***de and support those impacted by su***de loss through compassionate, nonjudgmental programs including the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, grief support, and community education.

We’re looking for community members who care deeply about this mission and want to lend their time, experience, and perspective to helping us remain a strong resource for Cape Cod and the Islands.

Board service is an unpaid volunteer position and includes attending regular meetings, supporting fundraising and community outreach efforts, and helping provide thoughtful oversight and direction for the organization.

You don’t need to be a mental health professional to make a difference. We welcome people with a variety of professional backgrounds, lived experiences, skills, and connections to our community.

☀️ Summer on Cape Cod and the Islands means getting out into the community!

We’ve loved spending this summer connecting with neighbors, sharing resources, and showing up at some of the events that make this season on the Cape so special. 💙

A few highlights from our summer so far:
⚾ Catching some Cape Cod Baseball League action at the Cotuit Kettleers vs. Falmouth Commodores game
💚 Raising awareness and sharing resources at Mental Health Awareness Day during the Y-D Red Sox vs. Harwich Mariners game
🚗 Joining the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce for the Hyannis Father’s Day Car Show

Community outreach is about more than being there for people in moments of crisis. It’s also about being present in the places where our community gathers: starting conversations, building connections, and making sure more people know that support is available when they need it.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible Team Samaritans runners who took on the Falmouth Road Race yesterday! From months of training and fundraising to 7 miles on the course, we’re so grateful for the time, energy, and heart you put into supporting our mission.

Together, our runners have raised nearly $33,000 to support our su***de prevention, community education, and grief support programs. We couldn’t be prouder of (or more grateful for) this team. Here are a few more fun pictures from our time greeting some of the team members at the Expo for their bib pick-up!

And they’re off! Team Samaritans is cruising through the Falmouth Road Race, hitting the iconic 7-mile course to raise funds and awareness for our work supporting people across Cape Cod & the Islands. We caught up with many of the runners at the FRR Expo this week, and are feeling inspired by their dedication to our mission.
