Welcome to Mascoutah, K9 Chapo! 🚔🐾

Yesterday, City of Mascoutah staff had the opportunity to meet our newest four-legged member of the team — DEA K9 Chapo! 🐕‍🦺

Chapo is 2 years old, born in the Netherlands, and has been specially trained in narcotic detection and human tracking. He is the partner of Officer Hoernis and is excited to begin serving the citizens of Mascoutah. 💜

We are thankful for the dedication, training, and commitment that goes into bringing a K9 like Chapo to our community. We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will make in helping keep Mascoutah safe.

6/17/2026 2:12 pm - City of Mascoutah utility crews have completed repairs, and power has been restored to all affected customers.

We would like to thank our linemen for their hard work and dedication, as well as our residents for their patience and understanding during the outage.

If you are still experiencing a power issue, please contact the Utility Department during business hours at (618) 566-2964 ext. 502. After business hours contact the after-hours utility emergency line at (618) 566-2963.
